Welcome to Kid'sFavoriteChicken.com
WHAT IS THIS?
In early April, 2002 one of my twin boys, Scott asked me what KFC meant. I told him "Kentucky Fried Chicken". Scott said "I thought it meant Kid's Favorite Chicken". Well, my wife and I thought, "What a great idea for a marketing slogan."
On April 2, 2002, Scott wrote a letter to the powers that be at KFC including YUM! Brands CEO David Novak as well as Cheryl
Bacheldor, Mark Crosby and Terry Davenport, each of whom at the time were in senior management for
Tricon/KFC. In the letter he tells of his revelation and that it ought to be included in a television commercial. We enclosed photo of the two boys holding KFC boxes.
On May 9th, I sent an email through the Tricon Global web site addressed to all of the above. The only response was four (4) one dollar coupons to KFC. Not that we were expecting a lottery jackpot, but we were hoping for a little more enthusiastic response.
On November 4, 2004 I had the opportunity to meet a KFC franchisee who owns over 80 restaurants and presented Scott's letter to him. He said the coupons were standard and that if I had just complained about the food, they'd sent us some anyway. He had his secretary make a copy and said he'd follow up on it. I'm still in contact with him and am looking forward to something good happening.
WHY A WEB SITE FOR Kids Favorite Chicken?
As a good father, I'm looking out for my children and just don't want to turn on the television one day and see a commercial for "Kids Favorite Chicken" without first having been recognized as the source of inspiration. Am I hoping for a little cash, sure? It would be nice to have a little something to help with college tuition. Is there any way for me to prevent the phrase from being used without our consent, probably not. Therefore, this is all being done on trust and faith in one's fellow man. We'll see if anything ever comes from it.
In the meantime, this web site is set up as proof that the phrase "Kids Favorite Chicken" came from my son Scott and was delivered to KFC on his behalf.
Thanks for visiting.
